with open arms and a smiling countenance i embrace you, awaiting the moment when
i can plunge my canines into the soft flesh of your throat and initiate you into my world...

i can smell you on my clothes, in the sheets, the scent of your head on my pillow. read me this thing you wrote across my chest with your finger dipped in ink while i slept with my eyes half open, snoring softly. you blew air into my eyes to wake me up after the ink was dry. and licked your tongue across my cheek, breath like sour milk after a sleepless night and too many cigarettes.
read me the math in that formula there. no, here in bed; it turns me on.then let's talk about what the river told us today, the things no one else hears but you and i. listen, listen, my heart racing, hooves beating on the hard dirt, so close, almost there, to the finish line. wait for me there; i want to meet you, but you don't know that, do you?

you brought roses to my funeral, how sweet of you to come. but you've always known that roses aren't my favorites, hun. you brought me tea and honey, every morning, too. but where was my coffee and sugar, cream, you? what'd you do with that piece of me, that piece of me you took? the one you thought i wouldn't notice, from the bottom of my foot? do you know that my leg is falling off cause that piece of me just grew? grew and grew and before too long, it will eat the rest of me, too.
